Equal opportunities and equal treatment of women and men as well as a family-friendly university policy to improve the compatibility of family and career are an important concern of Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH). Equal opportunities activities contribute to the removal of remaining obstacles to equal opportunities in the academic world. Equal opportunities work should enable students and scientists to combine family and career and to develop their potential. In order to ensure that this objective is met and to coordinate equal opportunities measures, an independent equal opportunities office was founded at LUH in 1991. The responsibilities of the Equal Opportunities Office include advising and informing students and employees on questions of equality as well as activities to fulfill the equal opportunities mandate.
The promotion of equal opportunities within the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1153 "Process chain for the production of hybrid high-performance components by Tailored Forming" is an important topic. For this reason, the CRC offers and implements a wide range of measures to promote equal opportunities and family-friendly workplace design. In close cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office of Leibniz Universität Hannover, the CRC participates in the implementation of research-oriented equal opportunities standards of the DFG and the equal opportunities policy of Leibniz Universität Hannover. Various programs and seminars for the advancement of female scientists are held regularly. In addition to the promotion of equal opportunities for female scientists, the CRC is also committed to the advancement and equality of students and pupils.
